During the summer of 2017, Bartholet Ropeways replaced the 2-passenger chair lift and the Lauchernalp-Stafel ski lift with a detachable 6-passenger chair lift.
The valley terminal is located at an elevation of 1,965 meters above sea level and the mountain station at 2,113 meters above sea level. The addition of the new 6-passenger chair lift will ensure that skiers have access to the main slope of the ski area. The Hockenhorn lift will then take passengers to an elevation of 3,111 meters above sea level. The new lift will in- crease riders’ comfort and improve their overall experience. With the help of the new lift, the Lauchernalp can increase the transport capacity for this slope from 800 passengers per hour to 2,200 passengers per hour. The new lift will optimize the ability of skiers and hikers to get on and off the lift.
To ensure that the lift will be ready for the upcoming season, construction was begun directly after the winter season 2016/2017. The construction work was completed without any major delays. As a result, the opening will be held on December 16, 2017, as scheduled. To celebrate the occasion, all guests will be able to ride the mountain lifts free of charge during the day.
The planned project provides for:
- Detachable 6-seater chairlift
- Capacity 1800 Pers / h, expandable to 2200 pers / h
- Driving time by 2.5 minutes
- Mining and Transport downhill 100%
- Base building with garage and workshop for groomers
- Estimate: total investment 8.5 million Fr.
